Best shows to go to this Halloween

The Woman in Black 


One of the classic London thrillers, now in its 25th year and having been seen by over 7 million people this is a must see over the Halloween period. Susan Hill’s acclaimed ghost story is brought to dramatic life in Stephen Mallatratt’s ingenious stage adaptation. Robin Herford’s gripping production is a brilliantly successful study in atmosphere, illusion and controlled horror.



The Exorcist 


This new addition to the West End is sure to give you some chills down your spine. Considered the scariest movie of all time, the film adaptation of The Exorcist sparked unprecedented worldwide controversy when it was released in cinemas in 1973. Forty-five years after William Peter Blatty’s best-selling novel terrified an entire generation, The Exorcist is unleashed onto the West End stage for the very first time in a uniquely theatrical experience directed by award winning film and theatre Director Sean Mathias.


Wicked


More of a family show to see over this Halloween, but with witches, magic, mythical creatures and world that'll open up your imagination this is the perfect show. Already the 16th longest-running show in West End theatre history, the London production premiere on 27 September 2006 and has already played over 4000 performances at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. Around the world, Wicked has now been seen by 50 million people in 14 countries, and won over 100 major awards. Based on the best‐selling novel by Gregory Maguire that ingeniously re‐imagines the stories and characters created by L. Frank Baum in ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’. 



Young Frankenstein 


This show only opened recently but the 5 star reviews have been pouring in, making it the must see show of this season. Legendary filmmaker and comedian Mel Brooks brings his classic monster musical comedy Young Frankenstein to life on stage in an all-singing, all-dancing musical collaboration with Tony-award winning Broadway director and choreographer Susan Stroman. If you need some giggles this Halloween, this is the show for you. 


The Mousetrap 


The longest running show in London, this murder mystery will keep you guessing and is as tight and thrilling as it was when it first opened. In her own inimitable style, Dame Agatha Christie has created an atmosphere of shuddering suspense and a brilliantly intricate plot where murder lurks around every corner.


The Toxic Avenger 


This hilarious show is killing audiences and is just the show we need around the Halloween period in London, one of the best nights in London and the perfect entertainment for this time of year. Based on the 1984 cult classic, The Toxic Avenger tells the story of the citizens of Tromaville who are crying out for a hero. Enter Melvin Ferd the Third, an aspiring earth scientist determined to clean up the toxic waste problem. When a corrupt Mayor and her government goons get wind of his plans, they vow to stop this heroic feat, Melvin is tossed into a vat of toxic waste, and transformed into The Toxic Avenger, New Jersey’s first superhero!
