Cameron Mackintosh is delighted to announce that on Monday 22 September 2014 at 7.00pm there will be a Gala Performance of Boublil & Schönberg’s “MISS SAIGON” to celebrate 25 years since the musical originally premiered. The new production opened at the Prince Edward Theatre in May this year and has been a triumphant success with record advance bookings. The overwhelming audience response has been just as rapturous as the original.
The original production opened on 20 September 1989 at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane where it ran for 10 years and still holds the record for the longest run at that theatre. “MISS SAIGON” has been seen by over 40 million people worldwide. After opening in London, the new production most recently opened in Japan with other productions planned to open in Korea, Australia, Europe and the U.S.
To celebrate this milestone, the cast of the new production will be joined onstage by members of the original company in a special finale. All tickets for this Gala Performance will be at the original 1989 prices of: £22.50, £20.00, £16.50 and £13.50.
Tickets for this performance go on sale on Tuesday 26 August. Fans of the show will have a two-hour priority-booking period on-line from 10.00am via “MISS SAIGON” social networks and the official show website with general on-sale starting at 12.00 noon (maximum 2 tickets per person on-line). The first Live Cast Recording of the entire show featuring the extraordinary 2014 company drawn from 18 countries goes on sale on Monday 22 September. It is released by Universal Music and First Night Records and will be available from iTunes, the Prince Edward Theatre and all good retailers.
