EMMA STONE to make Broadway debut as Sally Bowles in CABARET

Golden Globe nominee Emma Stone, known for her film work in "The Help," "Easy A" and "The Amazing Spider-Man," will make her Broadway debut as Sally Bowles in the revival of Cabaret, Roundabout Theatre Company announced Aug. 20.

Stone — who was previously considered for the role when Cabaret announced its Broadway return, but was unable to be involved due to commitments for a film project — will begin performances Nov. 11 for a run through Feb. 1, 2015.

Additionally, the production will extend its limited engagement through March 29, 2015, and Tony-winning star Alan Cumming as well as 2014 Tony Award nominees Linda Emond and Danny Burstein will extend their runs through closing.

Performances were originally on sale through Jan. 4, 2015. The production officially opened April 24 at Studio 54.

Academy Award winner Sam Mendes (director) and Academy Award nominee Rob Marshall (co-director/choreographer), who were Tony-nominated for their work on the 1998 production, return to recreate their direction and choreography from the 1998 Tony Award-winning production. Once again, they convert Studio 54 into the gritty Kit Kat Klub, with cabaret-type seating as well as traditional theatre seating, to recreate the environment of the notorious pre-war Berlin nightclub.

he cast also features Bill Heck as Cliff, Aaron Krohn as Ernst and Gayle Rankin as Fraulein Kost. The Kit Kat Klub boys and girls are Will Carlyon, Kaleigh Cronin, Caleb Damschroder, Benjamin Eakeley, Andrea Goss,Leeds Hill, Kristin Olness, Kelly Paredes, Jessica Pariseau, Dylan Paul, Jane Pfitsch, Evan Siegel and Stacey Sipowicz.

Cabaret features a book by Joe Masteroff, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. It is based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood.

The original design team also returns for the 2014 production, including set and club design by Robert Brill, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting design by Peggy Eisenhauer and Mike Baldassari and sound design by Brian Ronan. Patrick Vaccariello is the musical director.
