SKYLIGHT, starring Carey Mulligan & Bill Nighy, will transfer to Broadway

The acclaimed London production of David Hare's Skylight, which starred Carey Mulligan, Bill Nighy and Matthew Beard, will transfer to Broadway's John Golden Theatre, producers announced Sept. 3. All three stars will reprise their performances when previews begin March 16, 2015.

Directed by two-time Tony Award winner Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, An Inspector Calls), the West End import is scheduled to open April 2, 2015, for a 13-week limited engagement through June 14, 2015.

Here's how it's billed: "On a bitterly cold London evening, schoolteacher Kyra Hollis (Mulligan) receives an unexpected visit from her former lover, Tom Sergeant (Nighy), a successful and charismatic restaurateur whose wife has recently died. As the evening progresses, the two attempt to rekindle their once passionate relationship, only to find themselves locked in a dangerous battle of opposing ideologies and mutual desires."
