Casting has been announced for the first London revival of METROPOLIS



Casting has been announced for the first London revival of METROPOLIS by All Star Productions at Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre. 

Cast includes Rob Heron (Steven), Miiya Alexandra (Maria / Futura), Gareth James (Freeman), Kitty Whitelaw (Warner), Michael Levi (George), Alex Ely (Jeremiah) and Marc Mackinnon (Groat). Ensemble includes Annabel Edwards, Kieran Wynne, Tami Stone, Michael Larcombe, Laura Hyde, Mikey Wooster, Natalie Jayne Hall, Tom Blackmore, Freya Tilly and Shannon Kavanagh. 

Based on the 1927 Fritz Lang silent film, METROPOLIS opened at the Piccadilly Theatre in 1989 with a cast that included Brian Blessed, Judy Kuhn and Graham Bickely. 

Set in 2026 METROPOLIS is the last city in the world where all natural resources have been extinguished. The city relies on slave workers labour to keep running. The workers are locked up in an Underground city where they are forced to work at machines and not even allowed to see the sun whilst the wealthy industrialists reign in high rise buildings above.

INTO THE WOODS cast announced for run at Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre


James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone's favourite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless yet relevant piece and rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score (soon to be a Disney film) are both enchanting and touching.

The story follows a Baker and his wife who wish to have a child, Cinderella who wishes to attend the King's Festival, and Jack who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.

IT’S A BIRD… IT’S A PLANE… IT’S SUPERMAN will transfer to The Leicester Square Theatre


ll Star Productions are delighted to announce that their acclaimed production of IT’S A BIRD… IT’S A PLANE… IT’S SUPERMAN will transfer to The Leicester Square Theatre Main House in February 2015 for a limited run of just 10 performances!  All Star Productions presented the UK Premiere of the show in March 2014 at Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre.

The show, which is based on the Comic Strip SUPERMAN, is the tale of Superman’s efforts to defeat the vengeful Dr. Abner Sedgwick, a ten-time Nobel Prize-losing scientist, who seeks to destroy the world’s symbol of good. Superman also comes into romantic conflict with Max Mencken, a columnist for the Daily Planet newspaper who is intent on revealing Superman's true identity, as he resents Lois Lane's attraction to Superman.

All Star Productions to stage INTO THE WOODS

Leading the Creative Team is Tim McArthur (Director and Musical Staging) with Aaron Clingham (Musical Director and Orchestrations), who are the successful team behind last years Days of Hope, 2012's She Loves Me (4 Offie Nominations) and 2010's Follies.
