SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE | Trailer for this new production at the Noel Coward Theatre

Produced by Disney and Sonia Friedman Productions and based on the Academy Award®-winning screenplay by Marc Norman and Tom StoppardShakespeare in Love has been adapted for the stage by Lee Hall (Billy Elliot). Featuring a company of 28 actors and musicians, one of the largest companies ever assembled for a play in the West End, plus a dog, this new play will be directed by Declan Donnellan and designed by Nick Ormerod, the driving force behind the world-renowned theatre company, Cheek by Jowl.

GOOD PEOPLE final weeks confirmed


After receiving universal critical and audience acclaim, the limited west end run of Jonathan Kent’s production of David Lindsay-Abaire's sharp, acerbic and funny play Good People confirms last performance at the Noёl Coward Theatre to be Saturday 14 June.

Led by Imelda Staunton (Margaret) and Lloyd Owen (Mike), the full cast of Good People at the Noёl Coward Theatre includes Lorraine Ashbourne (Jean), Matthew Barker (Stevie), Susan Brown (Dottie) and Angel Coulby(Kate).
Award-winning Good People, presented in the west end by Old Vic Productions and Hampstead Theatre Productions, had its UK Premiere at the Hampstead Theatre where it sold out its run before transferring to the Noёl Coward Theatre from 10 April.

FURTHER CASTING ANNOUNCED FOR SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE


Disney and Sonia Friedman Productions are delighted to announce casting for the forthcoming stage production of Shakespeare in LoveThe announcement coincides with the 450th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s birth.


Ian Bartholomew will play Tilney, Tony Bell will play Ralph, Anna Carteret will play Queen Elizabeth, Paul Chahidi will play Henslowe,David Ganley will play Burbage, Richard Howard will play Sir Robert De Lesseps, Harry Jardine will play Sam, Abigail McKern will play Nurse, David Oakes will play Marlowe, Patrick Osborne will play Mr Wabash, Alistair Petrie will play Wessex, Doug Rao will play Ned Alleyn,Ferdy Roberts will play Fennyman and Colin Ryan will play John Webster.  They are joined by an ensemble including Daisy BoultonRyan Donaldson, Janet Fullerlove, Sandy Murray, Timothy O’Hara, Thomas Padden, Elliott Rennie, Charlie Tighe and Tim Van Eyken who will also be musical director. Gaiety will play Crab the dog. Further casting is still to be announced.

GOOD PEOPLE releases trailer and new production pictures

Presented in the west end by Old Vic Productions and Hampstead Theatre Productions, Jonathan Kent's production of David Lindsay-Abaire’s award-winning play received universal praise when it made its UK premiere at Hampstead Theatre onMarch 5th.

If you were born in South Boston you've started life on the wrong side of the tracks, so just making ends meet will need all the energy you can muster. Margie (Imelda Staunton) is a sharp-tongued single-mother on the edge. Hearing that an old boyfriend who has made good is in town, she decides to corner him, but when Margie's plan brings unexpected consequences for her and the unsuspecting Mike (Lloyd Owen), both must look to the past to re-examine the choices and secrets that brought them back together.

Hampstead Theatre's GOOD PEOPLE transfers to the West End


Old Vic Productions and Hampstead Theatre Productions are today delighted to announce that by popular demand the critically acclaimed production of Good People will transfer to the West End to play a limited season of just ten weeks at the Noёl Coward Theatre.


Jonathan Kent's production received universal praise when it made its UK premiere at Hampstead Theatre on March 5th. Imelda Staunton and Lloyd Owen lead the cast in this award-winning play about whether you can ever truly leave the place where you were born.

Casting Announced for SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE



Disney and Sonia Friedman Productions are delighted to announce casting for the roles of star-crossed lovers Will Shakespeare and Viola De Lesseps in the forthcoming stage production of Shakespeare in Love.
Tom Bateman will play Will Shakespeare and Lucy Briggs-Owen will play Viola De Lesseps.
Tom Bateman’s theatre credits include: ‘Antonio’ in The Duchess of Malfi at The Old Vic; ‘Claudio’ in Much Ado About Nothing at the Wyndham’s Theatre; ‘Richard’ in The Lion in Winter at the Theatre Royal Haymarket and ‘Dante Gabriel Rossetti’ in Lizzie Siddal at the Arcola Theatre. He has played major roles in TV series Da Vinci’s Demons and The Tunnel.
