KING CHARLES III extends run at the Wyndham’s Theatre until 31 January 2015


Due to overwhelming demand, the producers of Mike Bartlett’s critically acclaimed new play, King Charles III are delighted to announce that the show’s run will extend by 9 weeks, and will now play at the Wyndham’s Theatre until 31 January 2015. Tickets for the extension go on sale today.

Full cast announced for West End transfer of KING CHARLES III


The complete cast of the Almeida Theatre’s acclaimed production of King Charles III began rehearsals today for the play’s West End transfer.  Directed by Almeida Artistic Director Rupert Goold, the world premiere of Mike Bartlett’s hit new play enjoyed a sell-out run at the Almeida earlier this year and received outstanding critical acclaim.  King Charles III will transfer to the Wyndham’s Theatre for a limited season previewing from Tuesday 2 September with a press performance on Thursday 11 September. 

Tim Pigott-Smith will once again play Charles and Oliver Chris will reprise his role as William. They will be joined by Katie BraybenRichard Goulding, Nyasha Hatendi, Adam James, Margot Leicester, Miles Richardson, Tom Robertson, Nicholas Rowe, Tafline Steen and Lydia Wilson.

King Charles III will transfer to the Wyndham's Theatre this September


The Almeida Theatre’s acclaimed production of King Charles III will transfer to the Wyndham’s Theatre for a limited season previewing from Tuesday 2 September with a press performance on Thursday 11 September. Tim Pigott-Smith will once again play Charles. The cast also includes Richard Goulding, Nyasha Hatendi, Adam James, Margot Leicester, Tom Robertson, Nicholas Rowe, Tafline Steen and Lydia Wilson. Further casting is to be announced.

The Queen is dead: after a lifetime of waiting, the prince ascends the throne.  A future of power.  But how to rule?
Mike Bartlett's controversial play explores the people underneath the crowns, the unwritten rules of our democracy, and the conscience of Britain's most famous family. The production is playing to sell-out crowds at the Almeida Theatre until 31 May, and has received international critical acclaim.

Casting announced for King Charles III at the Almeida Theatre‏


Casting is announced for the World Premiere of Mike Bartlett’s King Charles III directed by Almeida Theatre Artistic Director Rupert Goold.   Public booking opens at 10am on Tuesday 25 February.
The cast will include Katie Brayben, Oliver ChrisRichard GouldingNyasha Hatendi, Adam James, Margot Leicester, Tim Pigott-SmithTom Robertson, Nicholas Rowe, Nick Sampson, Tafline Steen and Lydia Wilson.
King Charles III will be designed by Tom Scutt, composed by Jocelyn Pook, with lighting by Jon Clark and sound by Paul Arditti.
