Callum Francis to make Broadway debut as Lola in Kinky Boots


Callum Francis, who is currently starring in the UK touring version of Kinky Boots having previously played the role in Australia and understudying the role on the West End, will make his Broadway debut as Lola in the Tony-winning musical at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre beginning January 11, 2019.

Francis will play the role through March 17, succeeding J. Harrison Ghee, who departs the show January 10. However, Ghee will return to the role March 19 through the show’s final performance April 7.

“I am so excited and honored to be able to join the incredible Kinky Boots company on Broadway,” Francis said. “I’ve been so lucky to have been able to play the fabulous Lola to audiences in the UK and Australia. Broadway has always been a dream of mine, and I am thankful that I get to continue to play this role that inspires love and acceptance.”

Callums other credits include understudying and played John in Cameron Mackintosh's London revival of Miss Saigon (Prince Edward Theatre); understudied and played Simba in The Lion King (Lyceum Theatre); u/s Subway Ghost in Ghost (Piccadilly Theatre); Tribe and u/s Hud in Hair (European Tour); Ultimate Broadway (Shanghai Culture Square Theatre); Naked Boys Singing (Charing Cross Theatre) and Fame (Manchester Opera House).
