WAITRESS: Who our readers want to see as Jenna!

Recently, we saw that it was announced that Waitress would make its way over to the West End next year. Whether this is true or not, we put it to our readers who they would like to see play the lead role of Jenna, originated by Jessie Mueller, and we had such an over whelming response that we thought we'd put together an article showing the top picks!

Julie Atherton

Best known for her roles in Avenue Q, Sister Act and Lift; Julie was suggested by @karlpiekaerts and we couldn't agree more! Her comic timing will be perfect in this musical!

Rachel Tucker

One of the worlds longest serving Elphaba's, her name popped up in our mentions a lot when we posted our tweet for suggestions! Although she's heading back off to America could this be the job that makes her come back? We hope so!

Carrie Hope Fletcher

This YouTube star has made a name for herself in Musical Theatre with leading roles in Les Miserables, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and now The Addams Family. Thanks @Cieraaaawr for the suggestion, we are in total agreement!

Charlotte Wakefield

Currently in rehearsals for the new tour of Crazy for You, Charlotte has previously starred in The Sound of Music, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Oklahoma and Mamma Mia. @juyeybats suggested Charlotte and we agree with her completely!

Ashleigh Gray

After roles in Wicked, Cool Rider, Taboo, Grease and Vanities we think Ashleigh would be perfect in this show. @Jull_Mackauy8, what a suggestion!

Katie Brayben

After winning the 2015 Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical for Beautiful, could Katie Brayben follow in Jessie Muellers footsteps again? Apparently we're not the only ones who'd like too see it, @_samantha_t thinks so too!

Emma Hatton

Currently playing the title role in the London revival of Evita, Emma has been suggested quite a few times in response to our tweet! She has gone from strength to strength since being the Standby for Elphaba in the London production of Wicked. Could this be her next project?

Louise Dearman

According to @samshonk, Louise Dearman is the only woman for the job! After seeing her as Elphaba AND Glinda in Wicked as well as Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, she most definitely has the range for this role! We think she'd smash it.

Joanna Woodward

@johnotweedie suggested Joanna and we've been a fan of hers for a long time and after seeing her in The Life recently, we'd love to see her in this!

Lorna Want

Another Beautiful Alumni! @Justinbushy suggested Lorna and we would love to see her in this show. Could she maybe alternate it with her fellow Ex-Beautiful co-stars? That would be pretty cool...

Suzie Mathers

More Wicked stars on the list! Suzie was suggested by @SuTims and we totally agree, this Australian  musical theatre star would be a perfect choice for this role.

Lucie Jones

Currently abut to embark on the Legally Blonde tour, Lucie has been put forward by @jacobjb251. Establishing herself as a musical theatre star, Lucie would be perfect in this and we think it would be a tremendous role for her West End return.

Carolyn Maitland

Another suggestion by @jacobjb251, Carolyn is really making a name for herself after playing the role of Molly in the UK touring production of GHOST and we agree with Jacob, she would be wonderful in this show!

Natasha J Barnes

After raising to fame as Sheridan Smiths understudy in Funny Girl at the Menier Chocolate Factory and the Savoy Theatre, she has gone on to make a name for herself, playing the role on tour around the UK and starring in Cinderella at the London Palladium. One of the hottest names in theatre right now, she'd be ideal for this show. A late addition, suggested by the one and only @darren_bell.
Laura Pitt Pulford

After countless lead roles in shows that include Side Show, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Neil Gwynn, Parade, The Sound of Music, Oliver!, Marry Me A Little, The Light Princess and many more, she has the experience AND talent to smash this role. Another suggestion by @darren_bell. And how right he is!

Sara Bareilles

Being the writer of the show and after appearing in the role for a limited time in the Broadway production, could she come over to London and open the West End production? @AliceOlsen76 suggested Sara and we would love to see her open the show in London!
