Pocket Picks: Gender-Blind Casting!

Sabrina Aloueche | Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar

Sabrina Aloueche would absolutely kill Judas, that belt would do incredible justice to this amazing score. Maybe if Tyrone wants a little break this summer she could have a go?

Ian McKellen | Madame Morrible in Wicked

OK so this has to happen. Ian McKellen as Madame Morrible? Could there be a more perfect casting? Perhaps for the movie....

Patti LuPone | The Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera

Ms LuPone has said recently that she won't do any more musicals because she doesn't think she can continue being a leading lady at her age... But maybe she could give the Phantom a go in the next cast change? How epic would that be?!

Harry Francis | Peggy Sawyer in 42nd Street

Harry Francis would just be the cutest Peggy ever, maybe if they're looking for a new cast any time soon he might be able to take over after appearing in Fiddler on the Roof this summer!

Sandra Marvin | Lola in Kinky Boots

Sandra would absolutely slay this! As much as we're looking forward to seeing understudy Simon-Anthony Rhoden play the role in his own right, could Sandra maybe do a limited engagement?

Will Young | Velma Kelly in Chicago

After blowing us away with his performance in Cabaret we think Will could give the ladies of the Crook County Jail a run for their money!

Rebel Wilson | Dewey Finn in School of Rock

Was this role made for Rebel Wilson? I think so! We would definitely be making a return to the New London Theatre if she were to come back to the West End!

John Partridge | Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard

John Partridge inspired us to put him in this list as Norma Desmond after his recent performance in La Cage Aux Folles. How perfect would he be?!

Celinde Schoenmaker | Electra in Starlight Express

We've got a massive soft spot for Starlight and we think Celinde has the right amount of sass and power house vocals for this role! And I'm sure she'd slay that look!

Tituss Burgess | Effie White in Dreamgirls

Upon the announcement of Dreamgirls heading to Broadway we think if Amber Riley wants a break from the role then Tituss Burgess should totally do a stint. Click here to see exactly why...

Willemijn Verkaik | Willy Wonka in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

With the recent promotion of Charlie opening on Broadway and Wilemijn finishing Wicked soon, we think this is perfect casting and timing! Who says Willy Wonka can't be female?!

Ramin Karimloo | Eva Peron in Evita

One of our favourite musicals with one of our favourite leading men. He's tackled some of the biggest male roles, now we think its time he went for the female ones!

Rachel Tucker | Anatoly Sergievsky in Chess

Could we just picture Rachel Tucker singing Anthem for a moment? Now THAT would be a performance I would pay to see.

Tyrone Huntley | Eponine in Les Miserables

Tyrone is one of the top West End actors around at the moment, giving Stella performances in Dreamgirls and Jesus Christ Superstar. He'd smash this role, so come on Cam Mack! Make it happen!

Charlotte Wakefield  | Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys

Something slightly different for Ms Wakefield, but we think with her beautiful natural acting style and her stunning vocals this one could be a performance to remember!

Noel Sullivan | Lina Lamont in Singin' in the Rain

From Rock of Ages to Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Noel Sullivan has shown so much versatility in his Musical Theatre credits and we think he'd be the perfect Lina Lamont with his comic timing!

Beverley Knight | Frank N. Furter in The Rocky Horror Show

After her success in Musical Theatre we think its time Beverley takes on something a little different. And this would be an epic project for Ms Knight!

Oliver Tompsett | Alison in Fun Home

With the announcement of Fun Home coming to the Young Vic, if they wanted to experiment with casting we think Oliver Tompsett would be the perfect choice!

Lauren Samuels | Evan Hanson in Dear Evan Hanson

Look up musical theatre in the dictionary and Lauren Samuels comes up. She's someone we love to keep an eye on and with the rumoured West End transfer of Dear Evan Hanson we think they should switch things up and cast Ms Samuels!

Matt Henry | Killer Queen in We Will Rock You

The long rumoured return of We Will Rock You and with Matt Henry leaving Kinky Boots, we think this could be a match made in heaven.
